In ancient times, wall paintings were made of soil and leave color on mud walls when any important festivities were celebrated in our tribal culture. In our Tribal community Wall paintings are part of our culture since centuries. Gond art reflects the belief that “viewing a good image begets good luck”. This inherent belief led the Gond tribes to paint traditional tattoos and motifs on the walls and floors of their homes, following their cave-dwelling forebears. Gond art, in its original form, was intended to be an offering in the worship of nature.
